No Barriers to Care
In order to reduce barriers to your care, we are out-of-network with all insurance payers. If you have insurance, we will send you an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement from them. Because each insurance plan is different, we cannot guarantee that you will get reimbursed and at what amount. A sliding scale is available according to need.

HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1. Book an Appointment Date and Time Online
Schedule an appointment for Teledermatology just as you would for an in-person visit. Choose to pay a flat fee of $179 or we are happy to discuss a need-based sliding scale with you. Confirm a date and time.
For new patients: If you are new to HavenMD, we ask that you e-sign our Office Policies & review the HIPAA Notice of Privacy.
STEP 2. Access Your Patient Portal
Using the email you receive to access your patient portal, you will need to log in to enter or update your health history and account information prior to your Telehealth appointment.
Note: If you login to your portal from a desktop computer that has a webcam (web browser Chrome v46 or newer; Mozilla Firefox v42 or newer), you can conduct your visit directly through the portal.
STEP 3. Connect with Kurtis, Get Full-Service Care
Just like an in-person visit, you’ll get a full consultation, diagnosis, and prescriptions if needed.

ABOUT US
Dermatology is an essential medical practice, but sometimes visiting a brick and mortar office is just not practical. HavenMD was established to provide medical dermatology services for those with skin conditions that need to be seen by a professional but might not be able to come into an office. We offer the same level of care as in-person providers for clients who are immunocompromised or unable to visit a physical practice for any reason.
Kurtis Opp, PA-C
With 3 decades of experience in the medical field, Kurtis was the first dermatology PA in San Francisco. Kurtis got his start in dermatology when he began working at UCSF with professor Marcus Conant, MD. Before his work with Dr. Conant, Kurtis worked in cardiac surgery, urgent care, and occupational medicine. Kurtis is a respected academic and is a past president and co-founder of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, a co-founder and steering committee member of the SF Bay Area Physician Assistants, and the founder of the Derm PA Journal Club of San Francisco.
Marcus Conant, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Marcus Conant is one of the highest-regarded medical dermatology experts in California. With more than 50 years of dermatology experience, Dr. Conant has served as a clinical doctor, UCSF professor, medical consultant, and published researcher, and he has received numerous awards for his teaching, leadership, and public service. Dr. Conant is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the San Francisco Dermatological Society, the Association of Military Dermatologists, the Pacific Dermatologic Association, the American Dermatological Association, and the International AIDS Society.
